Lincoln Remembers 9/11

Our PTA President, Chara, and Historian/Arts Education Chair, Joshua, spent Sunday afternoon putting up flags, ribbons and spelling out “Lincoln Remembers” and “Hope” on our Garey Avenue fences. Monday, September 12, during our Principal, Alicia Mc Mullin’s Monday Morning Assembly, we honored 11 Pomona Police Officers. The students all shouted thank you for all their hard work…being HEROS everyday. All the students, teachers and staff received yellow ribbons (standing for Hope) to wear throughout the day…compliments of Lincoln PTA (just under 600 ribbons).

Though it was a small part of our day, we wanted to make sure the students not only learned about the events of that devastating day, but were reminded of the hope that comes from a nation standing together.
