Back in 1987, after a series of horrible events, the California State PTA established Red Ribbon Week to fight in the war against drugs. The following year President Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan made it a National event and became the honorary chairs.
Abraham Lincoln Elementary takes great pride in it’s participation in Red Ribbon Week. At Lincoln, the fight against drug use begins with our students. Whether it’s art projects, tying red yarn to the fence, wearing crazy outfits or proudly wearing their Red Ribbon and “Paws off Drugs” pin, our Lincoln Bulldogs together take a stand and declare loudly…PAWS OFF DRUGS. So don’t be surprised when they ask you if you’re drug free…they merely want a drug free world.
